Description:
Mr. Heiser practices civil litigation in the State and Federal
Courts of Connecticut and Maryland. Since joining the firm in 2001, Mr.
Heiser has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in the Connecticut
Superior Court, the United States District Court for the District of
Connecticut and the state courts of Maryland. He handles complex matters
involving employment law, non-competition agreements, trade secrets, liquor
liability, trucking, premises liability and adversary proceedings in the
bankruptcy court. He also represents management in employment discrimination
claims before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
Mr. Heiser's successful trials have included: the defense of a U.S. subsidiary of a Chinese company against whom a permanent injunction to work in its industry had been sought; obtaining a defense verdict for a major international insurer in a bad faith failure to settle case; obtaining a defense verdict for a large regional trucking company in a tractor-trailer accident case with a demand in excess of $1.6 million; and obtaining defense verdicts for numerous bars and restaurants against claims arising out of the service of alcohol.
